As for 1v1s being who can rush better, I was going to argue that but actually you're pretty much right. Ladder is a whole heap of early cheeses in lower-mid leagues and then cheeses + 1 base/2 base all-ins in mid-highish leagues.

You can make masters by cheesing every game (threads on team liquid showing you how) so those strats pretty much work forever.

I guess they were trying to make the game integrate really well with the cloud? I dunno, but the whole achievements thing with the campaign, having to sign in to play SP, and not having any LAN are really awful, imo...

I don't mind the accomplishments part, but if they had told me, I wouldn't have played if offline.

I'm actually not an achievement whore, but since the online is a waste without a core group of friends, it's all I really have to do.

I actually completed a lot of the Hard mode ones already, but there was a mission, the 6th or so, where you're fleeing the planet and the Zerg are pounding in. I wiped the zerg completely off the map, but it didn't give me my achievement, which was to eliminate 4 of the zerg main bases. Pretty awful.

I will be making my way back into the world of Starcraft 2 in a week or two, if anyone else is around.

I'll probably only play until about May 15th, though, when I both A) am finished with college, B) have tournaments for Ultimate Frisbee (Club and USAU College) and C) Diablo 3 comes out.

To be more specific, I'm hoping to develop a better Zerg awareness of different strategies, so I'll be looking to spar in some private matches one-on-one, and later learn how to team support in some two-on-two/three-on-three/four-on-four matches.

Hypothetically, you'll have to develop new tactics whenever the first expansion comes out. Of course, that's if Blizzard gets their act together. Of course, at this rate, by the time they release it, you may NOT be playing SC2 anymore.

So, it's probably nothing to worry.

I just had two terrible 2v2 matches. The first one I tech'd, and apparently our opponents (both Terran) started the game by lifting off and finding a corner. 30 minutes wasted for an easy kill.

Second game, I played with a downs kid who attacked the enemy one zealot at a time.

Le sigh. I miss you

ROFL.... oh man you gotta love Terrans and their mobile bases. So they just wasted the match hiding their bases or did they find some place to harvest and build up enough units to take your team out?

Starcraft 2: Heart of the Swarm released another gameplay video 2 days ago. It's a decent video, but showed how overpowered Terran are in the next version and the Protoss are nerfed too hard.

Actually, watching that game again, Protoss made some stupid moves to save their 4th base, which was dumb. Running at 8 siege tanks to protect an unneeded 4th was dumb.

Phew, I had that thought watching it, but I didn't want to say anything because you seemed pretty sure and I didn't want to get into an argument x.x

I like the tempest a lot, I think it's got a lot of potential to be really cool. Not sure how I feel about Terran's new teach options, though... I feel like the addition of faster and more survivable units are kinda OP, but then this is just the beta, and that game is pretty much the only information I'm going off of
