Diablo III / Re: Seasons coming to Diablo 3

I've been on a break from D3 waiting for the patch, so will be good to get back into it and check it out.

Annoucements / Forum upgrade! Find out what's new
« on: August 09, 2014, 09:47:56 PM »
The forums have been updated to the latest software version, and as part of the upgrade we've got a fresh new look.

Apart from the new look, most other things remain the same.

A couple of things that may be of interest though-
  • Wide theme - select this theme to get the forum to use the full width of your screen
  • Steam, Raptr, Xfire profile fields - fill this info in on your profile, and it will show up on your forum posts
  • Shout box (hate box) - got rid of the scroll bar and made the whole thing larger
To check out the wide theme, go to profile > modify profile > look and layout and select it here. If your time settings are all messed up (and they probably are) you change these on this screen too.

To add info into the new profile fields, go to profile > forum profile

When using the forum, if you do notice something not quite right, or that I may have missed when styling it all up, let me know and I'll get on it. And if there's something not here that you want to get added, let me know about that too. Otherwise, enjoy.

Annoucements / Forums 2.0
« on: August 08, 2014, 02:28:28 PM »
On Saturday night I plan on updating the forum software.

We're currently on v1.1.19 and it's moved on to 2.0.8 so we're a whole major version behind. The new 2.0 version of the software overhauls how the forum templates are structured and so the current forum theme won't work with it. I've had a 2.0 theme ready for a while now and some or most or all have probably seen it at one time or another.

If you haven't or just want a refresher, I've made a copy of the database and updated everything to 2.0 over here -

If you're not a fan of the compact theme, there is a widescreen one as well. Change the theme on this screen to check it out -;area=theme;u=1 (requires you to log in first)

I've also made the shout box bigger as it's the thing that's used the most, so might as well give it a bit more room.

Any huge concerns let me know!

I've never played it, but grabbed it for a rainy day. Cheers Shay.

Path of Exile / Re: How about a patch day/night SotW party?

Pretty much impossible for me outside of the weekend only due to the time difference. I spend plenty of time on the pc each night, all you guys are too busy sleeping though. I should install it and check it out again beforehand though.

Crusader looks badass as well.

Going to be so many of them running around on day 1 on the expansion.

Cthulhu needs to see this, Pally was his favourite class in D2.

Awesome! Have fun putting it all together, and then more importantly, installing games and sliding all the things to the right.

CPU idles between 20-26 and I decided to grab an extra cooler for it - I got a Coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO. Don't really know much about it, I added it to the list as it wasn't too pricey.

And I just had another session on Bioshock and max range the CPU reached then was 45-49C.

Nice case, I got the Corsair 400D - so a couple models below that one, but it runs nice and quiet using the standard three fans that come with the case.

My GPU idles at 27c with that setup and highest I've seen it is between 50-60 in game.

The cord management system in those cases is handy too.

I got the mid-range i5-4570 ($225) which is $120 cheaper than the base i7-4770 on the 1150 pin.

Media center :D

Don't have any fancy consoles to watch movies and browse netflix on my TV with, but my old laptop does these things well (and plays older games with a controller, as well ;))

Yeah I have a PS3 and Plex media center on my PC which my TV talks directly to. It's also in a huge freakin' case so might look odd sitting in the living room taking up a heap of room if I made it the dedicated media box. Plus doesn't have quite fans or anything like that so think it would be more annoying than beneficial.

I have a spare tv to set up in a spare room so this will probably get hooked up to that to maybe play controller games on. Maybe old roms? I have no idea :/
