Other Games / Romero's Aftermath
« on: March 28, 2015, 08:03:18 AM »
I got this e-mail from Infestation: Survivor Stories (as you know formerly War Z)

Welcome to Romero's Aftermath Early Access Alpha !

Romero's Aftermath is the spiritual successor to the infamous yet very popular zombie survival game Infestation: Survivor Stories formerly known as WarZ. The development team behind Infestation wanted to create a new experience for Infestation/WarZ players making sure to keep best parts of the game that made it popular, while avoiding controversial decisions and plain stupid mistakes that were previously made...

Unfortunately, it was impossible to make the modifications to the existing game under the partnership with Infestation's publisher – OP Productions LLC. We had to leave and start from scratch.

We do believe that what we’ve got is potentially one of the greatest zombie survival games on the market, and we want to make sure that all Infestation players are be able to try it for themselves. To make this happen we’re making this game FREE to all Infestation players.

Everyone who has an active account in Infestation will be able to create a free account in Romero's Aftermath as soon as game reaches Open Beta. In the meantime we invite you to take a peek at the game by joining us in the Early Access Alpha

As a thank you to the most active Infestation players that supported us over the last 3 years, we’ve created a special FREE founders package so that you can try Romero's Aftermath without spending any money on an Early Access Founders Package.

Romero's Aftermath is a unique fruit tree bearing over three years of experience working on Infestation and seeing all the good, the bad and the ugly while making Romero's Aftermath to be better in all aspects.

A quote from this article:

So what is Aftermath, exactly? Developer Free Reign East calls it the “spiritual successor” to Infestation, yet it’s technically a new IP due to the developer’s separation from its partner company. “The development team behind Infestation wanted to create a new experience for Infestation/WarZ players making sure to keep best parts of the game that made it popular, while avoiding controversial decisions and plain stupid mistakes that were previously made,” Free Reign East explained. “Unfortunately, it was impossible to make the modifications to the existing game under the partnership with Infestation’s publisher – OP Productions LLC. We had to leave and start from scratch.”

Firefall / Firefall - PTS (Public Test Server)
« on: August 21, 2013, 03:50:39 PM »
Firefall has available a PTS for anyone who has the time to download and enter and test the game in. It is a separate download client from the regular open beta game. You have to make a new account for it, and a new character.

It is not tied in any way to what ever progression you may have on your regular account.

It is up 24/7 like the regular servers. Big changes are set there first and we are alerted through a forum post like this one
in which they are currently asking for help in testing a brand new Battleframe- The Arsenal. AND, their very first public test of open world PvP in the Sunken Harbor area of the map. It's setup kind of like the PvP areas in Fallen Earth. You are warned that you are entering a PvP area.

If you need to see where to download the PTS, check this post

Path of Exile / Some quick Season 3 stats
« on: August 11, 2013, 05:04:07 PM »
(these numbers are not 100% perfect, because I cannot see the last page and if there is a full 20 entries)

There are 1,117 pages of participants in the Race Season 3 Ladder. 20 entries per page (not sure of the number on the last page, so we'll pretend it was a full 20)

That said:
22,340 total accounts participated.

of that, 10,217 accounts got 7 points or more (the minimum required to receive the first reward)
or 45.73% of accounts.

12,123 accounts got 6 points or less (no rewards) or 54.27% of accounts.

13 accounts reached 1000 or more points (maximum number of points, gaining all rewards)
or 0.06% of all accounts.

And 2 accounts in that top 13 have 7 or more challenges complete (Krippers-7 and Fireknight-8) and have absolutely no fucking life)

Firefall / Possible Firefall related army t-shirts
« on: May 05, 2013, 01:09:06 AM »
There's a fellow goes by Rardo on the Firefall forums. He designed t-shirts for two of the larger armies that would be doing some Firefall related events and got the ok from Red 5 to uses logos and such.

Here is the full thread

He is starting to branch out and show off other designs for other armies/clans and I asked him to throw together a couple thoughts for SotW.

Here is what he has come up with so far (click the thumbnails to enlarge):

A couple mock ups without the 'Red 5 Studios" and "Firefall" logos-

And one with the logos added-

Like I said, this is all in the early stages, but he does expect to be able to offer some variations for people to purchase. No idea on costs, and if he is given the 'go' and if enough of you guys are interested, we could change around the layout and all that.

But for now just wanted to show you these early concepts, I'll keep you all posted :)

At each additional level, the global buff given by the tow will increase in power (for example, Sunken Harbor's XP buff goes from 1% at level 1 to 5% at level 3).
Outposts that are not Copacabana, Trans-Hub, Thump Dump and Sunken Harbor are always considered to be at level 1 and are not under some of the restrictions of the bigger towns.

Clicking on various parts of the player is no longer required.Select the slot you wish to modify from a list to the right of your character in the Garage screen.
Changed font and coloring on Tooltips.
Tooltips are now positioned relative to mouse's vertical position on the frame.
Prevented right clicking out of Garage.

Fixed an issue where the item tooltip would break when using compare.
Fixed some missing description text of some items.

Answers to questions...

Can I get the discount without going to PAX?

Absolutely! The discount applies for everyone during the entire PAX weekend, Friday through Sunday. After that, prices will return to normal.

Can I only get a bike by buying Commander pack?

Nope. The bike in the Commander pack is a custom chopper-style bike instead of the default bike in the game. It's unique, just like you.

Extra masks for my friends, what's that about?

At the Lieutenant and Commander level, you receive a custom mask and then you receive extra Ensign masks for your friends. You'll still look like the bad ass of the group, but we wanted you to have something that you can share with other people.

How do I reserve my name/Army name?

The websites for these will be online soon and will go with the redemption of the founders pack. Your Army name will only be "confirmed" once you have 5 total people in your Army. So get your friends ready to go. More details on the specific pages later this week.

How long will Founders packs be available?

Founders packs are just that, for founders. They will only be available for a limited time. Time is still to be determined, but buy early if you're worried (especially with that 25% discount).

Can I use Red Beans to buy a founders pack?

No. Founders packs are separate from Red Beans and come with huge discounts on Red Beans, thus you must purchase them with credit card or Paypal.

When will I receive stuff?

Virtual items should be available Sept 24th in game. For physical goods, allow 4-6 weeks for delivery.

What do I get for buying at PAX vs online?

An awesome physical card showing that you are a founder and the Merch pet, along with all the great stuff in the packages.

I've already unlocked the Merch via the Crystite Challenge. When do I get that?

Sept 24th along with everyone else. No purchase necessary.

You can buy a founder pack with Paypal, which gives you red beans, but in-game we are still working on Paypal support.

There are no more character wipes. Ever. Any name you have now will be retained for a little while longer (any unused names with idle accounts may be removed to prevent squatting).

I am checking on international shipping.

Decals are going to be used various places, including the forums and player profile pages.

Also checking on XP boost stacking. I don't think they stack with each other, but I'll check.

XP bonuses do not stack. Commanders in a group receive 15%. Everyone else in their group receives 10%. They will stack with other purchased bonuses though.

Firefall / Huge changes to Firefall -No more levels-

That's right, Red 5 is getting rid of levels and we'll just let James and Scott explain it...

Personally I think it's a fan fucking tastic idea!
